Traditional archives usually contain drawings, photos and videos, but this is not always enough for restoration, especially if the object has suffered from fire or other factors.
Preserving and restoring monuments requires detailed work and high accuracy, which is exactly what 3D scanners can provide.
The sculpture “Dancer with a Finger at Her Chin”, scanned by an EXAMETRA specialist, has survived in rather poor condition. Thanks to iconographic materials, however, it is possible to see how it originally looked. 3D scanning helped not only to restore it but also to record the losses precisely and to plan further work.
Accurate copies make it possible to model restoration options, which is especially important when a sculpture has survived only in fragments.
During the restoration of the Griboyedov portrait, 3D models helped find the joining points of the sculpture's fragments, which significantly sped up the process.
It will easily handle your tasks of scanning a wide variety of objects while delivering metrology-grade accuracy control, because it uses 26+5+1 blue laser lines and has an integrated photogrammetry module.
It offers multiple scanning modes, measurement accuracy from 0.020 mm, and adaptability to the object's material. In short, it is a ready-made solution for scanning objects with complex geometry.
